Noodle and Doodle

I think I've mentioned before that Noodle and Doodle is Addyson's favorite tv show.  Actually the boys watch it too and love it!  It is really a neat show and if you haven't watched it you should!  Brad and I even watch it!!!  We love it because it is a cooking and craft show all rolled into one.... which is why Addyson loves it!!!  Watching Noodle and Doodle is like adults watching the Food Network!  They have SO many neat kid recipe ideas and craft ideas that complements that food items used in the recipe!  They even talk about recycling items from your recipe to use in your craft!  SO neat!
We spend a part of our Saturday mornings watching the 2 new episodes that air..... and often record them to watch them later throughout the week!!!  I've been wanting to try a recipe or two and decided it was time!!!!  We watched the episode, took note of the items we needed, went shopping, and were ready to cook!!!  We washed our hands, sang the song (watch the show and you'll know what I'm talking about), Addyson put on her new apron, and we were ready to get cooking!  Tonight we made the roll-ups but we called them the pinwheels.
We didn't have the exact same ingredients as Noodle and Doodle but they did suggest that you could use some of your own ingredients so that's what we did.  You take a puff pastry, we used a can of croissant rolls, and roll it out to make one sheet!  One top of that you spread a mixture of- one egg, cream corn, shredded cheese, and the whatever else (we added spinach and turkey).  Once the mixture is spread to cover the whole thing you roll it up, cut it into slices, and back it according to the package.
Addyson went heavy on the topping in the middle so ours were a bit sloppy, not so pretty, but tasted good!  We made a double batch and used these as sandwiches in lunches this week!  It was perfect!  I think we will be making these for lunches more often and just switch up the toppings so the kids don't get bored with it!  It cut lunch making time down by half!  And the kids ate all of their lunch!  Who can beat that?!?!  We are excited to try out some more Noodle and Doodle recipes soon!  You should too!!!
