Top 10 of 2014

Happy New Year!
Another year has come and gone!  Hard to believe it is already 2015.  Looking back 2014 seems like such a blur filled with many ups and downs, laughter and tears, personal accomplishments and growing opportunities, and many wonderful memories.  So many things but I will try to sum up our year with a top 10 of 2014 in no specific order.
  •  This year was our first full year spent in Saudi.  Our first time to experience all of the seasons, holidays, and special moments away from our friends and family back home.  It was a year for us to start forming new traditions and create our new "home away from home".
  • Loss- this year was a year of loss.  3 of Ambre's grandparents passed away this year (Grandma Blessing, Papa, and Opa)
  • Gain- this year we formed very close and special bonds with a couple of families on camp that have become like family to us.  We are also forming many wonderful friendships with others on camp.
  • I competed in my first sprint triathlon early in the year and competed in the Challenge Bahrain as a team member and ran my first half marathon.  A huge year of athletic achievements for me and in turn this has inspired others in my family to start getting active.  I can't wait to see what we sign up for in 2015.
  • We added another person to our family.  Ivy has joined our family has a nanny/housemaid.
  • Professionally, Brad got a position as a Leadership Development advisor and Ambre (with Brad's permission per Saudi rules) got a job as a substitute teacher at the elementary school.
  • Brad became the Wolf Den leader on camp and Owen became a Wolf!  Owen got to participate in his first big pack event the Raingutter Regatta.  Addyson became a Daisy member.
  • Owen was a member of the RT soccer team and played against other Aramco teams.  He also participated in an elite soccer clinic at the end of last year's season.  The new season kicked off at the end of 2014 and Brad is still coaching Owen's team and Ambre is coaching Addyson's team.  Ethan loves to come to practice and is able to play with Addyson's team, he has a natural ability just like Owen does!
  • Owen started 2nd grade, became interested in Chapter books, and is a budding Entomologist.  Addyson started kindergarten, is learning to read, and is an aspiring chef.  Ethan started at the "Learning Tree" preschool and is a natural at learning.  He is writing and recognizing several letters and numbers.
  • Travel.  We are so blessed to be able to take so many adventures, explore the world, and teach our children about other cultures.  This year we got to travel to Turkey, Bahrain, Greece, US, Canada, and Hong Kong.  So many wonderful moments, hard to pick just one.
2014 was good to us.  We count our blessings and try to teach our children to appreciate and seize the many learning opportunities we have.  I look forward to all 2015 has in store for us to see how grow as a family, personally, professionally, and spiritually.  From our family to yours, may 2015 be a year of growth for you.  May you seize the moment, chase your dreams, and grow into the legacy you want to be remember for!  All the best in 2015
